Don’t get on your nerves (or the package)! – The press

We had to wait until Thursday night’s last picture to solve the most compelling mystery of TVA’s If We Still Loved One: Will Pierre get his famous bidet, which his wife Nathalie hated and didn’t want to spend a penny on? The answer ? No, according to Nathalie, no “ass toilet” for our 56-year-old cook.

But Pierre and Nathalie got much more than just a “high-end” sanitary item for their TV appearance. They saved their couple from shipwreck, which is worth more than any bathroom renovation, I write this without any sarcasm, yes, that happens to me sometimes.

Since Pierre and Nathalie’s adventure in the practice of therapist Louise Sigouin began six weeks ago in the form of a car accident, we shouldn’t be afraid of words. Nathalie, 50, yelped like a little chihuahua she’s learned to tuck in her bag, thank you.

This accountant, allergic to softness, lamented how her husband didn’t want her for 32 years, she belittled him, humiliated him, constantly snapped him and “took the packet” from him to show his sexual appetite.

Then Nathalie and Pierre reunited over the course of their tantric, alpaca petting, and outdoor tai chi workshops. And before our eyes their complicity has blossomed again, it sounds esoteric-boboche written like that, but it’s 100% true. Nathalie collects her wages (read: a sexual relationship), Pierre expresses himself more (especially in his diary) and the two spouses will of course live the van life with the good dog Hector. Grandpa has become a prince!

For the first time in four seasons, including three regular seasons and a special on floating couples, If We Loved Oneself ended on harmony and hope.

Janie and Lee

The four pairs of keys that Louise Sigouin consulted did not explode, on the contrary. That Lee, 43, and Janie, 40, have not broken is a miracle, let’s pray the five dualities, Lord.

The depression, the hash use, the primal scream on the chalet terrace, the black smeared artwork, life as a bachelor, seriously, Lee was sinking before our eyes, but Priestess Louise Sigouin prevented him from drowning.

Well, moving Lee and Janie to the same bedroom isn’t on the agenda, we’re going slowly and carefully. Still, after the first two weeks of broadcasting, we could never have imagined that Lee and Janie would be singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” in a red Honda, smiling tooth and nails.

That’s what comes out happily when we’re still in love: progress. Week after week we see how the love life of the eight protagonists improves, which was not always the case in the previous chapters.

The last balance sheet week was even touching to look at.

The “if we still loved each other” formula allows the themes to be explored in depth and doesn’t force things like we’ve seen in the past when irreconcilable singles had to face a journey to the end of hell or live together in the same Angus shop condominium. It was great for discomfort, not so much for domestic fulfillment.

Louise Sigouin, Emily Begin and Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge

Expert Louise Sigouin even discussed possible splits with her 2023 volunteers if the pieces of the broken pot ever fell apart. And she did well not to get on her nerves any more, dear Louise, especially when Lee and Jeremy were barely forming full sentences while growling in front of her. It felt like shaking them, wake up, your families are falling apart!

Again, Louise Sigouin’s patience and support was a lifesaver for Emmanuelle, 34, and Jérémie, 28, who are raising six children together. They pissed off on camera, said hurtful things to each other (like taking out the bell chain) and managed to keep their relationship from falling apart.

It was moving to see Lee and Jérémie, two men unaccustomed to expressing their feelings, who said they were proud of the work done.

The same goes for Alexandre, 35, and Gilles, 33, who were also on the verge of divorce and reconnected the thread of their complicity with four-wheel drive rides in the woods, fondue dinners at a restaurant, river viewing and paintings executed with elements of nature. It was really nice to follow their development.

Will all these ‘If We Still Loved Each Other’ couples survive their TV lives? Maybe not. At least they will have tried. And they learned the basics of making the vision board, the good old vision board.
