Dont Panic for Warriors

“Don’t Panic” for Warriors

The Golden State Warriors started the NBA Finals in the worst possible way when they fell against the Boston Celtics in the fourth quarter. However, those in charge of the California team insisted there was nothing to worry about…at least for now.

With a 12-point deficit going into the fourth quarter on Thursday, the Celtics showed resilience by putting 40 points on the board before the end of the game and eventually winning 120-108.

As expected, Steph Curry didn’t have much to blame for leading his team with 34 points, although he was particularly effective in the first quarter. His bandmate Draymond Green claimed much of the blame on an episode of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show.

“When I retired from the game, I dropped it because I didn’t play well,” he said. When [Curry] is just as productive and playing the way he played, I have to do my part to ensure that we win.”

The 32-year-old winger had 11 rebounds and five assists, but most of all he remembered just two of 12 shot attempts. He challenged his teammates to wipe the slate clean for Sunday’s second duel of the series.

“You have an opportunity to do things differently and take on the challenge that comes your way, put Green into perspective, according to the Warriors website. We have always accepted challenges. It’s no different this time.”

For the first time at this spring tournament, the San Francisco-based team is behind in a series. However, Klay Thompson, who won three championships with the Warriors along with Curry and Green, wanted to reassure.

“You know, it takes four wins to win, not one. We have all endured similar ordeals in the past. There’s no need to panic.

“I still like our chances. I know we will be better in the second game.”

Curry, the downtown throwing champion, echoed his teammate’s message.

“We know they have a good team. But so do we. We have to take the call on Sunday.”
