quotDont tell me how to writequot Thats what James

"Don’t tell me how to write" : That’s what James Cameron said to Arnold Schwarzenegger during the filming of “Terminator”.

“Terminator” is a classic whose cult recreations are often cited. This is also one of his replicas that made director James Cameron and leading actor Arnold Schwarzenegger face off…

The Arnold documentary series, available on Netflix since June 7, offers an intimate look into the life of legendary actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Of course, as FilmStarts reports, she mentions Terminator (1984), the film that launched her career. And as James Cameron revealed in the episodes, there was some disagreement over arguably the most iconic quote in the entire film and saga, the infamous “I’ll be back.”

“Sometime during filming we shoot this police station scene. line [de dialogue] is: “I’ll be back”. It wasn’t supposed to be a big moment at all. At first glance, it should literally be, “No problem, I’ll be back.” For some reason, Arnold didn’t say, “I’ll be back.” I said, “Well, just say ‘I’ll be back.'” Hold it simply.'”

For Arnold Schwarzenegger, this line in a cyborg’s “mouth” seemed a bit “strange”. Then he felt that “I will be back” would be a little more machine friendly. But when he made the suggestion to James Cameron, Cameron was offended and asked him, “Are you the screenwriter?” The actor replied no. “Well, don’t tell me how to spell shit!” That’s what is said!

Ultimately, the director won the argument, and “I’ll Be Back” became one of the defining moments not only of the franchise, but of 1980s cinema as well. That minor disagreement didn’t affect the duo’s relationship, however, as they then reunited for Terminator 2 in 1991 and then for True Lies in 1994.

Terminator (1984) and its famous cult recreation are currently streaming on FILMO.
