Earlier this week, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov warned of the danger of a third world war. Now he claims that it is NATO that finds itself at war with Russia. Weapons delivered from the West will be targeted when they reach Ukrainian soil.
According to Chancellor Sergei Lavrov, Russia does not see itself at war with NATO. Instead, NATO believes it is at war with Russia, Lavrov said in an interview with Arabic-language broadcaster Al-Arabiya, according to Russian agencies Ria and TASS. Also, Russia is not threatening nuclear weapons, the Western media has hyped this up. “We are not ‘playing’ with a nuclear war,” Lavrov said.
In an interview with Russian television on Monday, Lavrov warned of the “real danger” of a Third World War. In late February, Russia put deterrent weapons on alert, which was understood worldwide as a threat to the nuclear arsenal.
In an interview with Al-Arabiya published on Friday, Lavrov repeated that the “special operation”, which Russian officials call a “special operation”, will end when all objectives are achieved. This is to protect the civilian population in eastern Ukraine and ensure “that there are no threats from the territory of Ukraine to this population and to Russia. That’s all.” In eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions, pro-Russian separatists proclaimed people’s republics, which Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin recognized as independent shortly before the start of the war in Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Minister also said that Russia knows the routes by which the West wants to deliver weapons to Ukraine. According to him, the delivered weapons should become the target of the “special operation” “as soon as they reach the territory of Ukraine”.
