After US President Joe Biden expressed doubts about the number of casualties caused by Hamas in the recent war against Israel, the Palestinian radical Islamic organization published a list with the names of almost 7,000 people who were believed to have been killed in Israeli attacks.
The list published by the Hamas Ministry of Health contains 6,747 names, information on the victims’ ages and genders, and their identification numbers. 281 bodies have not yet been identified.
A statement from the Hamas Health Ministry said the US had “blatantly” expressed doubts about the accuracy of the reported death tolls. “We decided to share the (…) names of the victims with the entire world so that the truth about the genocide committed against our people by the Israeli occupation is known.”
Biden said Wednesday that he had “no confidence” in the militant group’s claims regarding its fatalities. Israeli military spokesman Richard Hecht said yesterday: “If the Hamas health ministry publishes figures, they should be viewed with caution.”
