Dozens of dead after terrorist attacks by Al Shabaab militia

According to military sources, terrorists from the Islamic Al-Shabaab militia killed dozens of people in the Somali-Ethiopia border area. The extremists initially attacked Somali soldiers and Ethiopian police in the Somali border province of Bakol, Somali military adviser Hassan Mohamud told the German press agency on Friday. They then crossed the border into Ethiopia and attacked posts there as well.

The series of attacks began on Wednesday, the military adviser said. At least 80 people have been killed so far, including soldiers, police, civilians and terrorists. Mohamud said it was extremely unusual for Somalia-based Al-Shabaab to cross the border. The Ethiopian government did not comment on the attacks until Friday morning.

Al-Shabaab, for its part, said on a militia radio station that it had killed 87 soldiers and police. The terrorist militia repeatedly commits attacks in the Horn of Africa region. She wants to overthrow the Somali government to establish an Islamic state.
