A doctor has figured out exactly why you should never eat in bed, angering thousands of his followers.

dr Sam from Singapore loves gross medical stories and explains that eating in the bedroom makes you the perfect candidate for a German cockroach infestation.

And he doesn’t mean “your house”.

The famous TikTok Doc explained that little roaches are attracted to the smell of earwax and love nothing more than living in a warm, humid environment — like the ear canal.

The only other thing they need is food. And if you eat in bed, the leftovers are enough.

He told the story of a 24-year-old man from China, in whose ear lived a family of ten cockroaches.

The young man “had a habit of leaving unfinished packages of groceries by his bed,” the doctor explained.

One night he woke up with a sharp pain in his ear.

When his family took a look, they were horrified to see a cockroach peeping out at them.

“It caused a lot of discomfort because it was crawling and scratching inside,” he said.

The doctor said it’s important never to try to remove the roach yourself – because you could do more damage than the insect.

Instead, you should always have the beetle or family of beetles removed by a doctor.

dr Sam added that other insects can also make homes in your ear and that there are similar medical histories from many different countries.

His post unnerved his fans and definitely sparked a “new fear.”

“I will sleep with earplugs from now on,” said one horrified woman.

“This made me afraid of sleeping without a blanket over my head,” added one person.

Other people said they had bugs in their ears.

“When I was six, I had a fly in my ear, which caused a lot of pain,” said one woman.
