The Philadelphia Flyers have apparently attempted to make a trade to get their hands on Logan Cooley during the 2022 draft.
The Arizona Coyotes forward said this during his appearance on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast.

During the 2022 auction, the Yotes selected the American with the third overall pick. The Flyers had the fifth pick of the first round.
“I had some really good meetings with Arizona. I thought I would come third if no one picked me first. However, I met with the Flyers about 20 minutes before the draft and I believe they were trying to make a trade. So I didn’t know exactly what was going to happen,” Cooley said.
The club from Pennsylvania visibly failed in their attempts and targeted striker Cutter Gauthier with the fifth overall pick. Before the “Yotes” had their say, the Montreal Canadiens selected Juraj Slafkovsky with the first pick and the New Jersey Devils selected Simon Nemec with the second.
Cooley will play his first professional season in 2023-2024. So far, he has collected six assists in eight games.
Gauthier, for his part, still plays in the NCAA. He has scored six goals and assisted on seven points in six games for Boston College this year.
