It is the most dramatic moment in Giovanni Allevi’s life. The musician, who became famous for having personal problems (anxiety, panic attacks) solved in music and used as inspiration, received terrible news while undergoing treatment himself after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. A form of tumor “with a sweet name”, as Allevi wrote, but subtle and dangerous. In this already very complicated scenario, here’s the blow: Giovanni Allevi’s sister, Maria Stella Allevi, was found lifeless in her home in Ascoli Piceno on the night of July 18-19. It is suspected that she committed suicide.
The fight against evil
As we await the autopsy results, we know that Maria Stella Allevi, also a pianist and teacher, was awaiting a specialist visit after facing a “delicate clinical pathway.” She was married to the Carabiniere Ercole Di Felice and had left her husband at the Roseto degli Abruzzi house to move to Ascoli and then to Milan, where a new medical examination awaited her. Another brother of hers should have accompanied her, who did not find her and sounded the alarm by dispatching the police. The woman was found lifeless. The pianist and high school teacher Maria Stella Allevi is Giovanni’s older sister, both are children of the opera singer Fiorella and the clarinettist Nazzareno.
