This is the dramatic moment Russia shoots down 26 drones over Crimea as Putin's Kremlin accuses Ukraine of an attack on the annexed peninsula.
Russia said on Friday it had foiled a series of Ukrainian drone strikes in two border regions.
Within two hours, 26 drones were shot down over the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed from Ukraine in 2014, the Defense Ministry said in a statement, without saying whether there were any casualties or whether any damage was caused.
A statement from the ministry said the wiretapping took place between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. local time.
Previously, the ministry said in posts on Telegram that six drones had been shot down in the Kursk region, targeting “facilities on Russian territory,” again without providing further details.

Drone attacks occur almost daily in Russia's border regions, but mass attacks are less common.
Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoit confirmed the attacks on Telegram and called on residents of the region to “remain calm.”
The capital Moscow and its outskirts were also targets of Ukrainian drone attacks.

Russia is now bombing Ukrainian cities almost every day. This week they launched a massive drone attack on southern Ukraine and fired ballistic missiles into Kiev, injuring about 50 people from debris.
Crimea was conquered and annexed by Russian troops from Ukraine in 2014.
