Drew Barrymore got quite a surprise on her talk show when she was asked for her hand in marriage by her former babysitter Pauly Shore.
Shore, 55, who has been a long-time friend of Drew, got down on one knee to propose to the Hollywood icon on Friday’s episode of her eponymous series.
The big reveal came after the couple discussed Pauly’s podcast, mourned the loss of Matthew Perry and remembered his late famous mother Mitzi Shore, who co-founded the Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
“What Drew doesn’t know is that my mother wasn’t happy when you married Tom Green,” Pauly said, referring to Drew’s year-long marriage that ended in 2002. “And she said to me, ‘Pauly, Drew should marry you.’
“And that’s why I came here tonight, on this glorious night, to present you with a ring,” he continued before pulling out a giant sparkler.

“Are you proposing, Pauly?” Drew asked with a big smile as Pauly replied, “I got married properly.”
Drew began to giggle as she took a close look at her jeweled finger and said, “Amazing engagement ring, by the way.”
She showed it to the audience before telling them: “You’ll have to stay tuned to find out my answer.”
“It was a wild ride. “Pauly Shore, I love you so much,” she said, ending the show.
She told the audience to “come back tomorrow” to see how the proposal turned out.
Elsewhere in the interview, Pauly and Drew discussed why the Encino Man star wasn’t currently in a relationship.
“It’s very, very difficult for me to have a girlfriend because it’s difficult for me to let love in because I’m afraid of getting hurt,” Pauly explained.
When Drew asked Pauly what he was afraid of, he said, “Well, I want to do it with the right person.” That’s the most important thing.
