Driver who hit Kayky Brito raises R$170,000 for a fundraiser

App driver Diones Coelho da Silva ended his joint fundraiser this Friday (September 8th) after raising more than R$170,000 in 24 hours. There were more than 5.8 thousand employees. The driver’s goal was to raise R$30,000 to make repairs to the car after actor Kayky Brito was run over.

On social media, Diones thanked his supporters and said he could go back to work. “I come by to thank you for all the donations, for your support and everything you have done. And to say that I am completing the crowdfunding, very grateful for all donations. You can be assured that it will bless me and my family very much. I will be able to do my job again. Thank you to each and every one of you.”

His profile on the 99 traffic app was blocked after the accident. But after a social media campaign, the company allowed him to return to work. Diones also received support from several celebrities who asked him to reach out privately so they could help him.
