More than 100 people died this Thursday, the 5th, in a drone attack on a military academy in Homs Syria, during an officer promotion ceremony, the NGO Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) said, adding that almost half of the victims were military personnel and 14 were civilians. More than 125 people were injured. The attack, which the Syrian army attributed to “terrorist organizations,” left “more than 60 dead,” including soldiers and at least nine civilians, the OSDH said. Most of the victims were officers, but at least nine civilians, family members of military personnel who attended the ceremony, also died, the NGO added. According to the same source, there are “dozens of injured.” The army said it would respond “firmly” to “this cowardly terrorist attack.” “Terrorist organizations” attacked a “promotion ceremony for officers at the military academy in Homs with drones loaded with explosives” right at the end of the ceremony, the Syrian army said in a statement.
