The self-proclaimed Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an ally of Damascus in the fight against terrorism and occupation, claimed responsibility for the action and asserted that the aircraft had hit the assigned target.

This attack comes a few hours after a similar attack on the illegal Pentagon base in the Al-Omar oil field in Syria's Deir Ezzor province and a day after four other enclaves in the northeastern Syrian provinces were also bombed with missiles and drones by Hasake and Deir Ezzor.

According to the aforementioned resistance unit, these actions are part of its approach based on the fight against the American occupying forces in Iraq and the region, as well as in response to Israel's massacres of the Palestinian population in Gaza.

A U.S. official recently told Lebanon-based Al-Mayadeen television that U.S. troops have been attacked more than 118 times.

Washington maintains about 15 bases in Syrian territory, most of them concentrated in oil fields, without approval from the Damascus government or the United Nations.

Meanwhile, the North American presence in Tanef is trying to cut off communications between Syria, Iraq and Iran, the countries that form the axis of resistance against the United States in the region.

Syria has repeatedly condemned this presence, which it described as an occupation, and asserted that the actions of the US military on its territory promote terrorist activities and aim to destabilize the country and plunder its wealth.
