A package containing, in particular, narcotics and hacksaw blades was seized at Donnacona prison near Quebec on Sunday.
Staff vigilance prevented these items from getting into the prison inmates.
The package contained almost 100 grams of marijuana, 90 grams of cannabis wax, 48 grams of tobacco, two hacksaw blades, a cell phone, six SIM cards, nine cables and three cell phone charging pads.
These items are worth more than $50,000 within the prison walls.
Donnacona Prison is a maximum security prison located about forty kilometers from Quebec City and houses approximately 450 inmates.
