Drummondville vs. Victoriaville: Two MPs start a Putin challenge

In the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ), fans can expect quite the clash between the two rival cities of Drummondville and Victoriaville in the first round of the playoffs. Two local politicians have decided to take on a fun challenge, including Putin, of course.

Hockey and this dish of French fries in sauce with cheese curd, is there really anything that intrigues the inhabitants of Centre-du-Québec more? At least that is the opinion of Richmond-Arthabaska MP Alain Rayes, who has reached out to his colleagues in the National Assembly to challenge his Drummond counterpart, Martin Champoux.

“Today, I take the liberty to issue a friendly challenge to my colleague from Drummond, with confidence, in order for the loser of the series to share a video on our respective networks praising the quality of the winning town’s Putin,” stated Mr. Rayes , Thursday.

The Drummond MP rushed to accept this “impossible to refuse” offer, which included “two regional prides”. Of course, Mr. Champoux will support the Voltigeurs and his colleague will support the Tigres.

The series, this famous battle of the 122, begins Friday in Victoriaville. On paper, the Tigers appear to have the edge, ending the regular season third in the Western Conference. They picked up 11 more wins than the Voltigeurs, who had to settle for sixth place.
