The House Jan. 6 Committee traces a series of contacts of former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani in the days leading up to Jan. 6 — and concludes he was the only person spoken to by Trumps on election night inner circle and told him he had won the election.

Giuliani, who spoke at the “Stop the Steal” rally Jan. 6, had two phone calls that day with Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, according to excerpts from the Jan. 6 House Committee final report released Monday .

The report also enumerates the advice a “drunk” Giuliani gave to former President Donald Trump the night the former president declared, “Honestly, we won this election.”

“According to the select committee, Rudolph Giuliani was the only adviser present who supported President Trump’s propensity to declare victory and who appeared to be intoxicated,” the report said, citing testimony from campaign adviser Jason Miller.

Miller had testified, “The mayor was definitely drunk, but I didn’t know how badly drunk he was when he spoke to the president.” According to this lawyer, Giuliani denies the allegation.

The report cites testimony from former Attorney General Bill Barr that contradicts Giuliani’s claim. “On election night, the President claimed right out of the box that a major scam was afoot. I mean, that happened, as far as I could tell, before it was even possible to review the evidence,” Barr testified.

The report also cites statements by Arizona House Speaker Russell “Rusty” Bowers, who recalled Giuliani saying, “We have many theories; we just don’t have the evidence.’

The report delves into some of the biggest testimonies about Giuliani’s role, including entering a lawsuit in Pennsylvania alleging fraud that was thrown out of court and threatened his ability to practice law in New York and Washington.

“When Giuliani visited campaign headquarters to discuss election disputes, Trump campaign professionals began to view him as confused,” the report said, citing text messages and witness testimony.

It also cited a New York court that had suspended the former New York City mayor’s attorney’s license.

“That’s exactly what happened in the end. In suspending his license, a New York court said that Giuliani, in his capacity as counsel for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign, had been shown to have made false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the general public in connection with Trump’s failed efforts voted for re-election in 2020.’

The report also brought back an earlier highlight from a Jan. 6 public hearing involving testimonies by Georgian election officials Ruby Freeman and Wandrea ‘Shaye’ Moss. Giuliani had suggested in comments to lawmakers and Georgia election official Brad Raffensperger that they were involved in voter fraud.

Referring to a video clip, Giuliani even accused Freeman and Moss of swapping thumb drives to sway votes “as if they were.” [were] Bottles of heroin or cocaine,” the report said. “That was completely wrong: it wasn’t a USB drive; it was a gingermint.’

The panel also uses phone records to put Giuliani at the center of January 6th. “Indeed, cell phone records indicate that at 1:39 p.m. and 2:03 p.m. after being briefed on the Capitol riots, President Trump called his attorney, Rudolph Giuliani,” it said.

Giuliani is said to have made two calls to Rep. Jordan, whom the panel has described as a “significant player” in Trump’s efforts, on the evening of Jan. 6 as part of a lobbying campaign that continued after the Capitol riot.

“He also received five calls from Rudolph Giuliani that evening, and the two were connected at least twice, at 7:33 p.m. and 7:49 p.m.,” the report said. “During this time, Giuliani has testified, he attempted to reach out to congressmen after the joint session resumed to encourage them to continue to object to Joe Biden’s electoral votes.”

The report details efforts by former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien, who described himself as part of the “normal team,” to keep Giuliani away from him.

“Stepien became so suspicious of the new team that he locked Giuliani out of his office,” the report said.

Then Stepien’s statement is quoted.

“You know, I had my assistant – it was kind of a big glass wall office at our headquarters, and I had my assistant lock my door. I told her don’t let anyone in. You know I’ll be there when I need to be there. you know tell me what i need to know Tell me what’s going on here, but, you know, you’ll see less of me.”

He continued, “And, you know, Mayor Giuliani tried to come into my office and told her to unlock the door, and she didn’t.”

Giuliani blew up the committee with a tweet he sent out during its last scheduled public meeting.

“It is clear that the committee’s purpose is to destroy a man willing to stand against the permanent Washington political class and its corrupt cabal – the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump,” he wrote.
