Dumba is about to find a buyer

Veteran Matthew Dumba, still in the National Hockey League free agent market, could end up with the Arizona Coyotes next season.

At least, that’s what Sportsnet network journalist Elliotte Friedman said on her recent podcast, 32 Thoughts. According to him, the “Yotes” have their sights set on the defender, especially since they have a vacancy within their defense brigade. After inking a five-year, $30 million deal, the right-hander should basically accept a far less lucrative deal with a much shorter term.

Dumba has played for the Minnesota Wild since his National Hockey League debut in 2013-14. Last season, he had four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 79 games while maintaining a -8 rating and 81 penalty minutes. The 28-year-old ice hockey player has played a total of 598 games in his career and collected 236 points.
