Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con was reserved for two Saturdays for a Legendary presentation, which I heard was set to showcase Dune: Part Two and the studio’s next Monsterverse movie. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, this is currently not the case.
The Dune: Part Two panel was scheduled for Saturday, July 22 at 11 a.m. Whether the picture appeared always depended on the fact that there was no work stoppage at SAG-AFTRA. That’s sad, because an appearance by Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh would have injected much-needed fire into an already truncated and sleepy fanboy confrontation that was badly marred by the WGA strike. The Denis Villeneuve sequel to the multiple Oscar-winning blockbuster made a pit stop at CinemaCon back in April, where the first trailer was shown.
Dune: Part Two is slated for release on November 3rd through Warner Bros. In the sequel, Paul Atreides of Chalamet allies with Chani of Zendaya and her desert tribe, Fremen, while exacting revenge on the conspirators who destroyed his family.
TV networks have been planning and preparing for a SAG-AFTRA strike on their Comic-Con schedule and those venturing into San Diego. For example, FX plans to show episodes and clips from shows like Archer, which is about to end.
