Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson reveals ‘surviving’ mum Ata, 74, was in horrific car crash but ‘okay’ is: ‘If you still have your mum and dad make sure you get them fixed embrace’
Dwayne Johnson said his mother Ata Johnson is doing well after a car accident she was involved in in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
The 50-year-old superstar took to Instagram on Thursday with a picture of a red Cadillac vehicle with extensive damage to the passenger side.
“Thank god she’s fine,” the wrestler-turned-actor said of his mother, 74, in the caption of the post. “Angels of Mercy were watching over my mother when she was involved in a car accident late last night.”
The Black Adam star added that “she will survive and will continue to be judged,” noting the obstacles she had previously overcome.
“This woman survived lung cancer, a tough marriage, a head-on collision with a drunk driver and an attempted suicide,” the A-list actor said. “She is a survivor in a way that makes angels and miracles real.”
Johnson thanked the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department authorities “for being so caring and focused” and “staying on the phone and talking me through everything.”
Johnson, whose father Rocky Johnson died in January 2020, urged his followers to show love to their parents.
“I have one parent left, so if you still have your mom and dad, hug them tight because you never know when you’re going to get that 3 a.m. call that we never want to get,” he said.
The news came on an already celebratory day in the pro wrestling community, amid the death of “The Genius” Lanny Poffo at the age of 68.
