Despite being placed on injured reserve earlier this week, Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has every reason to be optimistic about his return to action.
The forward actually attended morning practice on Thursday alongside his teammates who had an evening meeting with the Carolina Hurricanes. However, the hockey player wore a jersey that prohibited body checks, but this did not prevent him from running intensively and making shots or passes.

Larkin was badly shaken by a tackle from Mathieu Joseph and Parker Kelly of the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. At the start of the game, he retreated to the locker room with the help of trainers after briefly losing consciousness following a blow to the head. His teammate David Perron wanted revenge by double-checking Artem Zub in the face: the Quebecer received a six-game suspension for his action.
The date for Larkin's return has not yet been set. He scored 25 points in 24 games this season.
