EastEnders: Denise Fox's downfall is 'revealed' as she 'seals her fate' with a dramatic confession – following Keanu Taylor's Christmas murder

Denise Fox's downfall was “revealed” as she “sealed her fate” in Tuesday night's episode of EastEnders.

Denise turned to her murderous ex-husband Lucas Johnson for help for the second time in the latest episode as she sought support following the cover-up of Keanu Reeve's Christmas Day murder.

Denise (Diane Parish) struggles with the murder of Keanu by Linda Carter at the Queen Vic and is now afraid of being blamed for the crime by the others.

After her “D” necklace is accidentally buried next to Keanu's body, she experiences horrific flashbacks fearing that she may be linked to the crime.

Plus, Linda's son Johnny is now under extra pressure to find out what they've done.

She visited Lucas for the first time in recent episodes, but Denise visited him again on Tuesday night.

During the visit, he managed to get her to imply that she and the Six had killed Keanu. The six have been desperately trying to cover up the murder since Christmas.

He begged her to confess what she was hiding and told her he was the person she could confide in.

He told her, “Confess and you will be free,” to which Denise replied, “You won't tell, do you swear?” before stopping the unnamed others by telling her ex that it wasn't just her who was involved.

She said, “It's not just my secret, the others… you don't know what they're going to do. They don't know what they're capable of.”

Lucas then told her to “unburden her soul,” to which she finally confessed, “I buried him, I put him in the ground.”

The episode then ended dramatically as viewers will have to tune in to the next part to see what happens next.

It's not yet confirmed if Lucas will find out the whole story or if Denise will share more about what happened.

One viewer took to social media to share his thoughts, writing in response to the episode: “Don't trust Lucas, Denise!” He's tried to kill you before and went on a killing spree. Therefore, he will only use your confession to secure an early release!

“Very captivating #EastEnders. I just hope it doesn’t end up like Den’s murder when half the place knows the secret!”

A second said: “Because you can really trust Lucas, Denise.”

Another wrote: “Things must be bad if Lucas looks like the good guy. “He's preparing to shorten his sentence by making fun of you and the others, Denise!”

Viewers were shocked when, on her first visit, Denise sought help from former pastor Lucas, who made her life hell when he locked her up and claimed she had been killed to cover up his own crimes before going to prison was thrown.

He then briefly returned to the soap in 2020, but was arrested again after being caught by police with drugs.

It was a twist that completely stunned many viewers on first viewing, with some quickly taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reaction at the time.

One shared: “Didn't see the #DufDuf coming.” No idea they would be back. “I love it when #EastEnders throws you a surprise return that they've kept secret and not made public.”
