BRUCK/LEITHA. It is the largest settlement project in the history of Lower Austria and a landmark for the Bruck an der Leitha business place: The German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim is settling in the Brucker Eco Plus Park.
Boehringer Ingelheim is one of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies. Based in Ingelheim, Germany, the group is represented globally with 145 affiliated companies. The pharmaceutical company employs 50,000 people worldwide. Founded in 1885, the family business focuses on drug research and the development, production and marketing of new drugs with high therapeutic benefits for human and veterinary medicine.

In autumn 2021, Boehringer Ingelheim officially opened a new biopharmaceutical production facility, LSCC, in Vienna. The project, worth more than €700 million, was the largest single investment in the company’s history to date.

Due to the great success, the management of the group recently decided to install another production unit of a similar nature in Austria. At around €1.2 billion, this new investment is significantly higher than that of the LSCC. It is also one of the largest corporate investments ever made in Austria. Boehringer Ingelheim is thus further expanding its capabilities in the production of biopharmaceutical medicines and contributing to the security of supply of these innovative medicines. The new facility will be built in Bruck an der Leitha, in the Eco Plus Park business park.
