In an interview with GQ, the British singer said that his great success is thanks to two themes that he addresses in his songs. “Well, I think everyone loves love and everyone feels depressed, and I feel like those are the two topics I’ve written about the most,” he said. As an example, the Bad Habits singer cited his 2017 ballad Perfect, which he wrote as a tribute to his current wife Cherry Seaborn. “When I wrote ‘Perfect,’ I thought, ‘This is really cheesy, Cherry’s going to think I’m the cheesiest boyfriend,'” he said. Ed Sheeran released his latest album Autumn Variations on September 29th. The album was his second of the year, following “Subtract,” released in May and on which “Salt Water” is based.
