Édouard Julien hit a home run with so much power that he lost his helmet Thursday night in Chicago. The Minnesota Twins won 10-2 over the White Sox.
In the fourth inning, the Quebec native hit his 13th long ball of the year, his second in three games. To make the ball fly at a speed of 100 mph, Julien had to sacrifice his helmet. He ran around the trails with his hair blowing in the wind before being congratulated by his teammates.
The designated hitter opened the scoring for the Twins. In the same inning, Royce Lewis mimicked him with a solo home run. Kyle Farmer extended his arms during a four-run at-bat for the visitors in the seventh.
Starter Kenta Maeda (5-7) added eight strikeouts in seven innings to his record in the win. He allowed just four hits and two runs.
