Eight killed in oil tanker explosion in South Africa

At least ten people were killed when a tanker truck exploded in South Africa on Saturday morning. Another 50 people were injured, some seriously, according to the Gauteng regional government. As a result of the accident, two houses were set on fire and a nearby hospital was damaged, said William Tladi, spokesman for local emergency services.

According to local media reports, the tanker truck caught fire on a bridge in the town of Boksburg, 20 kilometers east of Johannesburg, causing a fireball a meter high. It was not immediately clear how the car caught fire.
