Eight people were killed in three different homes in the Chicago area, Illinois. The bodies were found between Sunday (21) and this Monday (22). An “armed and dangerous” suspect is being sought by police.
The first body was found Sunday at a home in Will County. Seven other people were found dead in two other homes in the city of Joliet.
According to the investigation, the victims found dead this Monday came from the same family.
According to police, the suspect was known to the victims. He was identified as 23yearold Romeo Nance.
Joliet Police Chief William Evans said the FBI is assisting in the search for the suspect.
“I've been a police officer for 29 years and this is probably the worst crime scene I've ever been to,” Evans said during a news conference Monday.
Police said they did not know exactly when the victims were killed. Investigators are also investigating the background to the crimes.
