The Love Island star and boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti discussed meeting each other’s families and hometowns while spending the summer together at the Love Island mansion.
With a first look at their new fly-on-the-wall series, Ekin-Su and Davide: Homecomings, they’ve now made their dream a reality.
In the ITV2 series, the reality star couple visit each other’s families in their home countries while experiencing the culture of their partner’s hometown.

During their trip, the couple enjoys a Turkish bath and learns family recipes from Ekin-Su’s grandmother while being driven around in a car by Davide.
Commenting on the experience, Davide said: “Well I loved the Turkish bath experience. It’s really warm there and you get a massage afterwards.
“I felt relaxed afterwards and I would recommend it to anyone. We also had a lovely romantic dinner in Italy and it reminded us of our last date at Love Island Villa with the candles and beautiful lights.

Ekin-Su said, “Yeah, I really loved that date too! I would suggest going to the country in Italy. I fell in love with Davide’s hometown because I would like to live in the country one day, it would be so relaxing. I would like to grow my own fruits and vegetables. I would also have my own wine bar.”
Ekin-Su and Davide look just as smitten as they did at the villa as they head to Verona, Italy, where they visited Juliette’s balcony from the tragic Shakespeare play.
They also go on a candlelit date during one episode, which they admitted reminded them of their last date at the Love Island mansion.

The first look pictures show that Ekin-Su and Davide have caught up with their brother Arda, their grandmother and Davide’s grandparents.
Speaking about her experience, Ekin-Su revealed: “I was really excited to meet all of Davide’s family and learn more about Davide’s culture.
“I was so excited to go on the road trip because we talked about it at the villa and it’s surreal that it actually happened! I was also really looking forward to Davide driving us around.”

Meanwhile, Davide reflected: “I was looking forward to meeting Ekin’s parents and all her family in Turkey, and also looking forward to her meeting my family in Italy.
“I’ve always said at the villa that I’m looking forward to bringing Ekin-Su to Italy, so I was so excited to finally bring her to my country, show her around and treat her to a nice Italian meal. We had such a good time together.
They were also asked how it feels to return home with the other by their side for the first time.
Davide said: “It was surreal at first because I didn’t expect to go to the villa and then fall in love and bring the person I love to my hometown.
“But at the same time I was so excited and really enjoyed all these special moments. I will cherish them.’

Ekin-Su admitted she had her own “pinch me” moments, saying: “It felt too good to be true, I kept thinking how are you doing here in Turkey with my grandma? It was really amazing.’
Despite the new momentum, however, Ekin-Su admitted that at no point during the trip did she feel nervous or “out of her comfort zone.”
She said: “I haven’t felt out of my comfort zone at all. On both trips I was very excited the whole time. There was something new and exciting to look forward to every day. Davide has some great surprises planned for both of us.’
Davide added: “Ekin thought camping was out of my comfort zone. I went camping when I was younger and so did Ekin and when we went camping together we found that we both love it.
“I love that Ekin likes simple things and nature, it’s really nice.”

Ekin-Su joked, “Yeah, I didn’t know what Davide’s expectations would be at first, and I wasn’t sure if he would enjoy camping.
“We heard that there are bears and pigs in our area! I always said, baby, we’re going in a trailer and we’re staying in a campground. How exciting!’
They even tried to learn each other’s languages, as Ekin-Su admitted that she kept saying “Ciao Bella” to everyone in Italy.
During the series, they take an eight-hour road trip in an RV to Ekin-Su’s family village, Odemis.
Ekin-Su said: “They say road trips bring you closer together and once we were in the campervan I was so grateful to Davide for driving us around all the time.
‘It was very nice. We had so many great conversations while driving around. We also sang a lot and played some eye spy games. We just had so much fun fooling around!’

When asked if they had any tips for people who have never been in an RV, Ekin-Su said, “Bring plenty of food and make sure you have a great playlist. music is important. Make sure you have enough petrol too!
Davide added: “Yes, we love music. A good playlist is essential.”
Speaking about her nervousness before meeting her in-laws, Ekin-Su said, “It wasn’t really me. I was a little nervous about meeting Davide’s father as I hadn’t met him yet, but I loved his father.
“I had already met his mother and sister and before I went to Italy I used to talk to his mother and sister on WhatsApp.
Davide emphasized: “I wasn’t really nervous. I loved Ekin’s grandma very much because we got along so well, especially when we cooked together. My mother said that Ekin was a really good cook when they cooked together.’
