Las Mélidas, Mélida Anaya Montes’ women’s movement association, will join other social organizations and leave the central Cuscatlán park in this capital to demand that the authorities respect their rights.
Another group that will attend this meeting to commemorate the peace accords are “teachers in the resistance,” who among other things declare that there can be no peace without a fair pension, and according to a statement, these accords are fundamental to the history of the country and “as teachers we feel a responsibility to defend it”.
He will also attend the meeting convened by the government’s opposition forces, the Bloque Resistencia y Rebeldía Popular (BRP).
On January 16, 1992, the Peace Agreement was signed in Mexico City before the leaders of Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Venezuela signed the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) by its supreme leader, Shafiq Jorge Hándal.
