The shortlist has been determined. Of the 28 new car models that qualified for the Car of the Year 2024 title this year, the international jury (59 specialized journalists from 22 countries) selected seven candidates in a first round.
Three of the finalists are from European manufacturers (BMW, Peugeot, Renault), two from China (Volvo from the Geely Group and BYD) and one from Japan (Toyota) and one from Korea (Kia).

All seven models will now be tested individually by the 59 judges and will compete against each other in direct comparison at the final event in mid-February at the Mortefontaine test track near Paris.
The result of the subsequent second round of voting with the announcement of “Car of the Year 2024” will be announced on February 26, before the Geneva Motor Show.
