Elections in France, who chooses the President?

Open match but only Zemmour claims to vote for Le Pen. Mlenchon basic

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT
PARIS The cunning turtle didn’t make it, albeit just barely. JeanLuc Mlenchon had promised, as in La Fontaine’s fable, to eventually catch all the rabbits that had passed him: he was successful with all the rivals on the left and also with Valrie Pcresse’s Gaullist right, and above all with the extreme Right of sworn enemy Eric Zemmour, but Macron and Le Pen escaped (the latter by a hair’s breadth). At the age of 70 and in the third presidential election, Mlenchon still had a great result, a basic 21% in deciding the winner of the ballot.

Five years ago, his explanation of vote in the second ballot was considered timid, unclear, a rhetorical stunt because he did not clearly position himself between Macron and Le Pen. This time, a few minutes into a moving speech Look at me, I never lowered my arms, I never gave up the fight, you must do the same! the leader of the radical left utters a sentence that could be decisive: Marine Le Pen must not be given a single vote. was i clear? Because sometimes I say things but I’m not heard, I’ll start again: You don’t have to give Marine Le Pen a single vote. And he will repeat it twice more to make his supporters laugh and to reiterate that his party certainly does not love France Insoumise Macron but will never be able to support Marine Le Pen’s extreme right.

It was not a given, because in recent years the animosity of the left towards the president of the wealthy Macron has grown extraordinarily, so much so that in recent polls the vote against Macron seemed to outweigh the vote against Marine. Mlenchon, who is very popular with young people (1834 years old), reiterates that there is an evervalid principle, and that is that the extreme right must not come to power. Following the same compass, they directly invite the socialist Anne Hidalgo, the ecologist Yannick Jadot, the communist Fabien Roussel and also the Gaullist right Valrie Pcresse to vote for Macron, one of the biggest disappointments of these elections.

Marine Le Pen, on the other hand, can enjoy the weary support of Eric Zemmour I won’t mistake myself as an opponent, vote for Le Pen who never stopped insulting her and wanting to take his place, but stops at a modest 7 %. The match is still open, yesterday’s abstention was very high and therefore there is still a large pool of votes to be won, but everything seems to be in favor of Emmanuel Macron’s reelection.
