Another big departure from Grey’s Anatomy. Consulting producer Elisabeth Finch, whose medical and personal history is being reviewed, is taking a personal vacation from the ABC show.

“I will always be one of the biggest fans of Grey’s Anatomy,” it said in a statement to Deadline. “I loved the show from day one and have had the privilege of writing for it since season 11. The proudest moment of my career was watching rape survivors receive the episode ‘Silent All These Years’. Grey’s Anatomy is a big hearted, brilliant family. As hard as it is to take some time off right now, I know it’s more important to focus on my own family and health. I am very grateful to Disney, ABC and Shondaland for making this possible and for supporting me during this very difficult time.”

Earlier this month, The Ankler questioned Finch’s medical history and some of her previous claims, such as how she was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, how she lost a kidney and part of her leg but was then misdiagnosed, and how she got it endured verbally and sexually abused by a male director while writing for The Vampire Diaries.

The Los Angeles law firm Lavely & Singer, representing Finch, said that “Ms. Finch will not disclose her private health issues. Nor will she discuss her pending divorce from her surviving wife, Jennifer Beyer, or any statements Ms. Beyer may have made to third parties about Ms. Finch.”

In addition to writing for Grey’s, Finch has been a prolific freelancer, sharing her personal medical stories with outlets such as Elle, and the Shondaland website. Her previous work includes The Vampire Diaries, No Ordinary Family, and True Blood. She joined Grey’s Anatomy in 2015.
