Elizabeth Holmes spotted after entering Texas prison yard following sentencing

FOX Business host Cheryl Casone gives the latest on The Claman Countdown that Sunny Balwani has been found guilty of 12 counts of cheating over a Theranos fraud.

The first photos released show former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes in prison in Bryan, Texas.

Holmes arrived at prison on May 30 to serve her 11-year sentence after being convicted of multiple counts of fraud.

The Bryan Women’s Federal Penitentiary is located near her hometown of Houston, which gives her better access to family members.

During her first few days in prison, Holmes wears a brown t-shirt and khaki pants.

For Holmes, life will be very different now. According to a former inmate at the Texas facility, she is allowed up to 300 minutes per month on the phone with loved ones and has visitors on weekends.

Holmes has an almost two-year-old son and a three-month-old baby, whom she conceived after and before sentencing.

The children are raised by their father, their partner Billy Williams.

The former Silicon Valley darling was originally charged with 11 counts, acquitted four counts, and the jury failed to reach a verdict on the remaining three counts.

Former CEO who dropped out of Stanford University at the age of 19 to found Theranos.

She became a paper billionaire after raising more than $900 million from investors on promises that the company’s blood testing technology could diagnose diseases with just a few drops of blood.

Holmes was indicted in 2018 alongside her former lover and Theranos First Lieutenant, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, who was already in prison after being convicted of a wider range of offenses in a separate trial.

Holmes and Balwani were also found jointly liable for paying approximately $452 million in damages to the victims of their crimes.
