Back in London to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Harry and Meghan had the chance to introduce their 1-year-old daughter, Lilibet, to her great-grandmother.
The big meeting, it seems, has finally taken place! According to information from our British colleagues at the Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth II met Lilibet, her great-granddaughter, during an informal lunch organized after the Trooping the Color military parade this Thursday 2nd June. A luncheon to which Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were invited, back on British soil to attend the Queen’s 70th Jubilee celebrations.
Lilibet, who celebrates her first birthday this Friday, June 3, was born in the United States and had not yet set foot in the country of her father, Prince Harry. Now it’s done. Our colleagues at the Daily Mail are unable to say whether or not Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children were present at this informal lunch, which was also attended by Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. The big meeting between little Lilibet, Archie and their three famous cousins, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte may not have happened yet.
Elizabeth II: How many great-grandchildren does she have?
At 96, Elizabeth II is the head of a large family. mother of four children (Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward), so is the Queen grandmother 8 times (William, Harry, Beatrice, Eugenie, Peter, Zara, James and Louise) and Great grandmother 12 times (George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie, Lilibet, Sienna, August, Savannah, Isla, Mia, Lena and Lucas). Savannah, Princess Anne’s granddaughter, is the eldest of the Queen’s 12 great-grandchildren, although she won’t celebrate her 11th birthday until the end of the year. So Elizabeth II has to be patient to become a great-great-grandmother.
