Ellen Pompeo made a rare appearance with her daughter Sienna at the Michael Kors fashion show in New York.
On Wednesday, the Grey’s Anatomy star was seen whispering soothing words of encouragement and gently kissing Sienna on the head just before they walked the red carpet at the New York Fashion Week event.
Page Six later heard the actress explain that the couture outing was part of a special New York Valentine’s Day celebration with the youngster.
It was a rare sighting of the 8-year-old as the 53-year-old actress was rarely photographed in public with her children.

She also shares daughter Stella, 13, and son Eli, 6, with her husband, record producer Chris Ivery, whom she married in 2007.
The ‘Old School’ star kept Sienna’s birth a secret for two months before announcing it in October 2014. She later explained, “This baby was born through a surrogate mother, so I felt an obligation to protect the surrogate’s privacy—that was paramount.”
The whole family made a rare appearance together last summer when they were photographed at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Women’s Show in Sicily, Italy.

Around the same time, Pompeo also shared some family photos to Instagram, including one of Sienna wearing a printed eye mask while dressed in a robe.
“A weekend with the Maestri,” she captioned the shot.
Pompeo has had more free time to attend fashion shows since leaving Grey’s Anatomy.

Last year, the actress shared an emotional message on Instagram as she prepared to film her final Grey’s Anatomy episode.
“I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you all have shown me, Meredith GRAY and the show for 19 seasons!” she wrote alongside a selfie. “Through all of this… none of this… would have been possible without the best fans in the world.”
Pompeo has been with the series since it premiered in 2005.
