Elliot Page has opened up about a horrifying experience with a famous actor who threatened to “fuck” him to convince him he wasn’t gay.

The trans icon and Umbrella Academy star revealed the sickening encounter in a chapter aptly titled ‘Famous A*****e at Party’ from her new memoir, Pageboy.

In it, Page recalled a harrowing encounter with an unnamed actor at a birthday party in Los Angeles in 2014, just a few months after the Inception actor came out as part of the LGBTQ+ community — before coming out as trans in 2020 .

Page said the actor, whom they considered an “acquaintance,” approached them at the party before spouting homophobic hatred and threatening to sexually assault the queer star.

“You’re not gay. That does not exist. “You’re just scared of men,” Page recalled the actor’s words. “I’ll fuck you to make you realize you’re not gay.”

When Page spotted the actor at the gym a few days later, the unidentified celebrity tried to refute his bigoted statements and threats, saying, “I don’t have a problem with gay people, I swear.”

“I think you could,” Page replied.

Elliot Page said he’s had “some version of this happen to him many times.” [his] Life” and that many queer and transgender people “continually struggle with it,” People reported.

“Those moments that we enjoy a lot, we don’t talk about them or we’re just supposed to dismiss them, even though it’s actually very horrifying,” Page said. “I put this story in the book because it’s about emphasizing the reality, the crap we’re dealing with and what’s being sent to us all the time, especially in environments that are predominantly cis and straight. “

They continued, “How do we navigate a world where there are either more extreme, overt moments like this.” Or you have more subtle jokes.

“[In Hollywood] These are very powerful people. They decide what stories to tell and create content for people around the world to see.”

Elliot Page also explained that he intentionally didn’t reveal the actor’s name, pointing out that several people at the 2014 party saw and heard what happened that night. He added, “But he’ll hear about it and know it’s him.”

Pageboy will be available in bookstores on June 6th.
