Elliot Page says he had a secret relationship with a secret co-star for two years

Elliot Page revealed in his new memoir Pageboy that he had a secret relationship with a secret female co-star for two years.

The 36-year-old actor met the actress – who he calls “Ryan” – on the set of a movie ten years ago and they fell “desperately in love,” according to an excerpt obtained by Page Six.

Page – who came out as transgender in 2020 and was formerly known as Ellen Page – writes that they had to be very discreet, which meant forgoing public affection and hiding the romance from friends and family.

“My partner was more reserved than me for a change,” writes the Hard Candy star, who then goes on to detail the “discreet but adventurous sex” they had.

The latest bombastic revelation comes after Page revealed his passionate rendezvous with fellow X-Men: Days of Future Past co-stars Kate Mara and fellow Juno Olivia Thirlby

Page recalls meeting the unnamed actress at a coffee shop when he was 26 and being mesmerized by her beauty both inside and out.

“She was radiant—her dress, her smile, the way she brushed her hair back from her face… We discussed books, activism, our collective consciousness, and the deep intelligence of nature,” he writes.

This innocent encounter quickly turned passionate as Page detailed their wild sexual escapades, telling readers that despite the secrecy, they “had a lot of fun.”

‘[We had] discreet but adventurous sex. “On rocks just below the Pacific Coast Highway, hidden in boulders in Joshua Tree National Park, on a plane,” he recalls.

They were traveling together and Page recalls waiting in the Air Canada lounge for a flight when Ryan decided to write a heartfelt message for him on the back cover of a book he was reading.

“She started writing on the back sleeve, an expression of love, one of the most beautiful letters I’ve ever received,” he fondly recalls.

Although her feelings were strong, Ryan insisted on keeping the relationship a secret from her parents and they went to extreme lengths to hide it.

“Her parents didn’t know.” “I was the boyfriend who came for Christmas … We never touched outside, we hardly went to dinner,” the actor writes to The Umbrella Academy.

He even noted on his cellphone that the woman was “under the name “Ryan”.

But the constant “lying, the fear, the disgust” ultimately made the relationship “unsustainable” and Ryan eventually broke up with Page.

Page – who was “shattered” by the split – speculated that Ryan couldn’t take “the shame” of being seen as a “queer” person.

The Whip It star then recalls meeting Ryan shortly after.

He remembers her walking into a party with an unnamed male date.

Page says he faked food poisoning to get himself out of the heartbreaking situation and that it was Ryan’s date who tried to help him by offering him coconut water.

“He obviously had no idea about our history,” Page clarifies.

He admits it was “a kind gesture,” but all he wanted at the moment was “to take the coconut water and throw it away.”

Released on Tuesday June 6, Pageboy offers fans a “brutally honest” look into his career and personal life

As if seeing his former lover move on wasn’t enough, Page admits it was her PDA that pushed him over the edge.

He writes: ‘[Ryan touching him] in a way she never could with me… it eviscerated me unreservedly.’

Released on Tuesday June 6, Pageboy offers fans a “brutally honest” look into his career and personal life.

Page Six received an excerpt from the memoir, in which Page claimed he had sex with Juno co-star Olivia Thirlby “all the time” while they were filming the hit 2007 film.

The Oscar-nominated star – once known as Ellen Page – said he was immediately attracted to Thirlby, now 36, who played Juno’s best friend Leah in the film.

He said, “I was surprised when I saw Olivia Thirlby.” She seemed so much older, capable and centered.

“Sexually open, a far cry from where I was then.” But the chemistry was palpable, it pulled me in.”

Page – who played pregnant teenager Juno MacGuff in the film – opened up about how they started “face sucking” in a hotel room after Thirlby admitted she was “really attracted to him” – to which Page returned her feelings.

He wrote: “It was on. I had an all-encompassing longing for her, she made me yearn in a new, hopeful way.”

He added that it was one of the first times someone made him cum.

Page said he and Thirlby had sex “constantly,” writing, “In her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a tiny, private room at a restaurant … We thought we were being subtle.” The intimacy with Olivia helped me banish my shame. I didn’t see the slightest sparkle of it in her eyes and I wanted that – done with feeling miserable about who I am.”

Around the time Page and Thirlby were making Juno, the pair were set to play the title characters on Jack & Diane — two young women who fall in love — but both dropped out before production and the cast has been replaced several times.

Thirlby publicly came out as bisexual in 2011 – she has been married to Jacques Pienaar since 2014.

has reached out to Thirlby officials for comment.

This comes after Elliot revealed he had a secret relationship with Kate Mara after coming out as gay in 2014 – and while she was dating Max Minghella.

In Pageboy, he describes how he and 40-year-old Kate fell in love while filming X-Men: Days of Future Past and how Kate was “in love with two people.”

Kate and Max went their separate ways in 2014 after four years of dating. She is now married to actor Jamie Bell, with whom she has two children.

In an excerpt from his memoir available to People, Page writes, “The first person I fell in love with after my heart was broken was Kate Mara.” She had a boyfriend then, who was lovely and talented Max Minghella.’

“It was right after I came out as gay [in 2014] and it was a time of discovery and also heartbreak. I think my relationship, or whatever you want to call it, with Kate embodies a certain dynamic that I’ve found myself in over and over again, which is falling in love with people who, I think a lot of us do, which are not fully available.

“And the kind of security in it and the ups and downs and the serotonin surge and then it goes away.” And I think that’s definitely a pattern in my life.”

“I think the love and care we feel for one another is very special. Separate from the intimacy I write about.”

Elliot said Max was helping Kate explore their relationship – which has been kept a secret from the world – and said Kate told him: “I never thought I could be in love with two people and now I know I am it can.”

The pair played a couple in the film My Days of Mercy, which premiered in 2017 and hit theaters in 2019 – it was made after their romance.

Page added that Kate has read the book and will be appearing at a book event in LA in June to promote it.

Elliot publicly came out as a transgender man in December 2020, but revealed he started “feeling like a boy” from the age of nine.

In an excerpt shared by People, Elliot recalled going to a gay bar just months before the premiere of his groundbreaking 2008 film Juno.

At the bar, he met a woman named Paula, who unwittingly helped him deal with his “shame.”

He wrote, “Dancing, sweat dripping down my back and chest.” I watched Paula’s hair twirl and bounce as she moved effortlessly, messy but controlled, sensual and strong.

“I would catch her looking at me, or was it the other way around?” We wanted to be caught. Deer in headlights. Frightened but not broken.’

After asking if he could kiss her, he continued, “And then I did.” At a queer bar. In front of everyone around us. I was beginning to realize what all these poems were about and what all the fuss was about.

“Before, everything was cold, motionless, emotionless.” No woman I’d loved hadn’t returned me, and the one who might have loved me in the wrong way.

“But here I was, on a dance floor with a woman who wanted to kiss me, and the antagonistic, cruel voice that flooded my head whenever I felt pleasure stopped.”

Elliot also explored how the bar helped him manage his shame.

He wrote, “Shame has been drilled into my bones since I was my smallest self, and I have struggled to rid my body of that old toxic and erosive bone marrow.”

“But there was a joy in the room, she picked me up, forced a reaction in the jaw, an uncontrolled, steady smile.”

Elliot was paid “more than $3 million” for writing his 288-page anthology, which Flatiron Books will publish June 6.

The two-time Emmy-nominated producer came out as a lesbian in 2014 during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s Time to Thrive conference in Las Vegas.

Elliot kicks off his nine-date international book tour June 6 at the Town Hall in Midtown Manhattan. Further dates will be announced shortly.

It’s unclear if Elliot is still dating non-binary comedian Mae Martin after the couple got matching tattoos and got ready for the 11th annual LACMA Art + Film Gala on November 5.

Elliot’s divorce from Canadian dancer Emma Portner was finalized in 2021 after two years of marriage.
