Elon Musk will be the focus of a new documentary from the unflinching Alex Gibney, Oscar-winning director of Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.
Months into production, Gibney announced the project on Monday and said he was “very excited” about approaching Musk cinematically. It is described as “the definitive and unvarnished investigation of the multi-billion tech entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter.”
Tech mogul Musk reached the peak of saturation in late 2022, when he completed a $44 billion acquisition of Twitter and pledged to transform the platform’s user experience and restore “balance” to the user body (including eliminating bot accounts, as Musk previously said). proliferated on the site).
Jigsaw Productions is producing the film with Closer Media, Anonymous Content and Double Agent, who are also financing the project. A distribution partner for the document has not yet been named.

Jigsaw will be produced by Gibney and Jessie Deeter and will be executive produced by Stacey Offman and Richard Perello. Joey Marra and Xin will produce for Closer Media, with William Horberg as executive producer. Anonymous Content’s Nick Shumaker and Jessica Grimshaw are producing, with Dawn Olmstead and David Levine executive producing. Gibney’s other credits include Taxi to the Dark Side, for which he won an Oscar, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine.
