Elon Musk took credit for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s attack on billionaires and urged the outspoken congresswoman to “stop hitting me.”
“I’m tired of emphasizing collectively what a hate crime explosion is happening because a billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a huge communications platform and distorts it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him out to dinner and made him feel to be special,” AOC said in one Friday post.
Musk was not named in the tweet but was quick to respond.
“Stop teasing me I’m really shy,” he wrote, adding a smiley emoji. The line seems to be a reference to when AOC said their Republican critics on the platform just wanted to go out with her.
“I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok,” AOC shot back at Musk before deleting the reply about a minute later.

The Tesla billionaire and world’s richest man sent shockwaves across the platform this week after inking a deal with the company’s board of directors to buy Twitter for $44 billion. Musk has fueled liberals by promising to relax censorship on the platform and encourage more freedom of expression.
