O American multibillionaire Elon Musk want with your start-up neural link implant a computer chip in a human brain later this year. He announced this on Friday at an event in Paris. “We hope to do our first implant later this year.” The recipient will likely be someone who suffers from “a form of quadriplegia” – that is, is paralyzed in both arms and legs.
Musk spoke at a question-and-answer session with around 3,600 people in the French capital. His start-up Neuralink received approval from US authorities last month to test computer chips in the human brain.

According to Musk, the implants, which are about the size of a coin, should enable direct communication with computers through thought. Until now, coin-sized prototypes have only been implanted in animals.
Neuralink isn’t the only company working on brain-computer interfaces. In July of last year there was a competitor Synchronous announced that it was the first company to implant a corresponding chip in the brain of an American patient.
