Elton John, Harry Styles AND the Spice Girls turn down a chance to perform at King’s coronation

Three A-list stars have reportedly turned down an opportunity to perform at King Charles’ coronation concert this spring.

The concert will take place at Windsor Castle on Sunday 7th May and a throng of stars will take the stage for the occasion.

Music man of the moment Harry Styles, legendary hitmaker Elton John and ’90s pop sensations the Spice Girls were all said to have been addressed.

According to The Sun, the three acts turned down the opportunity due to their busy schedules.

Web has reached out to representatives from Buckingham Palace, Harry Styles, Elton John and the Spice Girls for comment.

Harry is currently touring the cities with his concert tour called Love On Tour and will be performing in Coventry in May.

While the Spice Girls, who consisted of Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton and broke up in 2000, were reportedly reunited for the coronation.

Last month it was reported they were getting back together for the concert – but now they appear to have turned down the performance.

Elsewhere, Take That are said to be joining the star-studded lineup of acts, which includes sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue.

The legendary boy band, now made up of Gary Barlow, 52, Mark Owen, 51, and Howard Donald, 54, are set to headline May’s event at Windsor Castle, according to The Sun.

It is expected that Jason Orange, who left the band in 2014, could also sing along at the celebration.

However, it is understood that Robbie Williams will not appear on the show.

The show will air on the BBC the day after the King’s coronation and is expected to garner huge ratings.

Gary Barlow’s band has had a plethora of hits since forming in 1990 and has enjoyed worldwide success.

They tour over the summer but have reportedly not organized a May 7th venue in case they do perform at the concert.

Kylie and Dannii are also reportedly performing at the concert alongside Lionel Richie after blowing fans away with their surprise reunion at Sydney WorldPride earlier this week.

More acts are expected to be announced for the coronation concert in the coming weeks, with a source saying: “The biggest names and acts in world music are being approached for the concert.

“If you make a list of the world’s most popular acts over the last 30 years, they all get included.

“But Take That was at the top of that list and is a massive coup for the organizers to get over the line so early.”

Earlier this week, Kylie and Dannii joined a rendition of Kylie’s hit song ‘All The Lovers’, wowing the Sydney Pride audience and viewers watching the live stream around the world.

The pair were clearly having fun, holding hands and snuggling close as they sang and danced together.

Kylie wore a light blue lacy bodysuit with large sheer panels and flowing mesh.

The famous sisters last shared a stage in 2015 when they appeared on The X Factor.

That was when they performed their duet 100 Degrees, a track from Kylie’s Christmas album, for the very first time.

It comes after Robbie and Mark delighted Take That fans when they reunited in a hilarious Instagram video last month.

The pair were filmed by Robbie’s wife Ayda Field as they ate pizza while bizarrely sitting in high chairs.

Mark and Robbie joked they were the band’s babies as they sat in highchairs belonging to Robbie’s daughter Coco, four, and son Beau, two.

Ayda quipped: “I enjoyed you both in the highchairs. I think it looks good,” Robbie replied. “We couldn’t sit anywhere else. And besides, we’re the babies of the band.”

Fans were very excited to see the two singers together and rushed to thank Ayda for sharing the clip.

They wrote: “OMG you almost stopped my heart. How cute are these two??? I love seeing them together. Thank you for sharing!’;

‘This little clip made my year ❤️ Oh my god. Tomorrow is blue Monday, no more. Thank you Ayda ✌Heart = FULL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ x x’;

‘Aww..Rob and Mark together made my day ❤️ love them in the baby chairs x’

The reunion comes after Mark recently said he would love for Robbie to return to Take That again.

Formed in 1989, Take That have had 12 number one singles on the UK Singles Chart along with eight number one albums and are currently the most successful boy band in UK chart history.

The original line-up consisted of Robbie, 47, who left the band in 1995 and forged a phenomenally successful solo career. The group broke up a year later.

In 2006 the band reunited – without Robbie – and had great success again.

Robbie returned to the band for new album Progress in 2010, but resigned once in 2014.

Mark has previously said he, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald are planning their next LP as a trio but hope Robbie will join them at some point.

Take That fans have also been waiting for the release of Greatest Days.

The film follows a young boy band inspired by (but not equal to) the real-life pop group and includes newcomers Aaron Bryan, Dalvin Cory, Joshua Jung, Mark Samaras and Mervin Noronha.
