A twin-engine turboprop regional aircraft Embraer EMB 120 crashed on landing at Aden Adde Airport Mogadishu, Somalia. The domestic flight operated by the airline Hello Airlinescame from Garowe, the capital of Puntland in northeastern Somalia, and wore 34 people. Somalia’s civil aviation authority released a brief statement confirming that the accident occurred at 12:23 local time on July 11 while landing on runway RWY 05 of Aden Adde International Airport. The Somali aviation authority points out that there were people on board the aircraft 34 passengers and crew there were no fatalities and only two passengers suffered minor injuries.
Somalia’s civil aviation authority is already conducting a thorough investigation into the Halla Airlines plane crash. The purpose of the ongoing investigation is to determine the cause of the crash and to determine whether factors related to aircraft maintenance, runway condition, or other factors contributed to the runway override.
