Emil Heineman aspires to a specific role

Even though Emil Heineman has experienced professional hockey, he doesn’t take the Canadiens’ rookie camp lightly.

He even sees it as the ideal springboard for a good season. At least that’s what he told the media during his press conference on Friday.

“I think this is the perfect opportunity to prepare for a real camp. I want to be a leader and develop myself further in this regard. I’m here to impress, but I also want to be open-minded. I will do my best. I can’t wait to play.”

The man who played 11 games with the Laval Rocket last season also says fans haven’t seen the best version of himself yet.

“I am still young and have not yet reached my full potential. I’m still developing. I need to understand what it takes to establish myself at the highest level. I learned a lot last season in Laval.”
