The film is based on the 2006 book American Prometheus: The Triumph And Tragedy Of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning book details Oppenheimer’s personal life and his time leading the Manhattan Project in the early and mid-1940s.

He styled his silver tresses slicked back and appeared to be in a happy mood as he smiled and waved at photographers.
Matt has also been lovingly supported by his daughters Isabella, 17, Gia, 14, and Stella, 12, who he shares with Luciana Barroso.
Luciana’s daughter Alexia, 24, from her previous relationship with Arbello Barroso, also smiled for group photos with her sisters.

He portrays Lewis Strauss, who served two terms on the US Atomic Energy Commission.
The cast also includes Florence Pugh – who plays Oppenheimer’s mistress – Kenneth Branagh, Rami Malek and Josh Hartnett.
Gary Oldman is also said to have a cameo as President Truman in the epic.
Truman met Oppenheimer after the bombs were used in 1945 that killed 200,000 people, and Oppenheimer said he felt like he had blood on his hands.
