EMILY PRESCOTT: Tony isn’t the only Blair to have a falling out with the guy next door… when tech tycoon son Euan gets embroiled in a row with the neighbor after buying a £22million townhouse in London
Tech tycoon Euan Blair has not only eclipsed his father’s multi-million pound fortune, but is proving to be a little more adept at dealing with his neighbors than the former Prime Minister.
During his tenure as Prime Minister at Downing Street, Sir Tony Blair had a difficult relationship with his colleague next door, then Chancellor Gordon Brown.
But it seems to have taught his son a useful lesson. After buying a £22million London townhouse, Euan quickly became embroiled in a planning dispute with Kensington Council and his new neighbor Vinod Nair, who had put forward plans to remodel his stack with a two-storey extension and a new outbuilding at the back.

Property experts were not surprised by Euan’s expertise in the planning process given that the Blair family’s property portfolio is valued at £35m and he has a property investment company with his mother Cherie (jointly in 2014).
Euan, 38, whose education start-up Multiverse is valued at £1.35 billion, raised a number of objections to the planning application. Among other things, the new back house was too big and would make his garden appear too fenced.
He also claimed that builders busy with preparatory work were disruptive.
Kensington Council dismissed his claims, pointing out that neighboring properties had similar sized outbuildings and the builders had to comply with the Code of Building Practice.

Now that Euan and his businessman neighbor have bickered over the plans, they seem to have reached an amicable settlement and harmony restored in their affluent enclave of Notting Hill.
A spokesman for Euan confirmed that he had objected, but that his concerns were “now allayed”.
