A video of the entrepreneur, who is enjoying a surprise rise in the Republican primary, rapping “Lose Yourself” at a political event in Iowa went viral a few weeks ago.
The American music rights protection organization BMI said in a letter published by the DailyMail and confirmed by AFP that it had received “an official request” from Eminem urging the 30-year-old candidate not to do so music more.
This total political novice, who likes to imagine himself in “Trump 2.0,” now, to everyone’s surprise, ranks third in the polls for the Republican primary taking place in early 2024.
While attending Harvard, he was known for his talent as a rapper by the nickname “Da Vek,” an alter ego purveyor of libertarian lyrics.
“If you find the orator Vivek Ramaswamy intense, you haven’t met Da Vek,” The Crimson, the university’s student newspaper, humorously observed in 2006.
During the last two presidential elections, several well-known artists, including Pharrell Williams, Rihanna, Aerosmith and Adele, as well as Prince’s heirs, complained that their titles were played at Donald Trump’s campaign events.
The famous British rock band Rolling Stones even threatened legal action if the Republican continued to use their hit “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.
