Emirates plane flies 14 hours with holeinside Correio da Manhã

An Emirates Airbus 380 plane that had left Dubai in the United Arab Emirates bound for Brisbane in Australia flew for 14 hours last Friday with a hole in its side.

In images shared on social media, passengers revealed the size of the hole, which the airline said was made after a tire blew up, quoted by CNN Travel.

After what happened, Emirates released a statement explaining that the breakage did not affect “the fuselage or structure of the aircraft” so the voyage was not changed.

“One of the plane’s 22 tires burst in flight, damaging a small aerodynamic fairing. [componente que tem a função de reduzir a resistência aerodinâmica]which is an outer panel of the aircraft,” the company said.

According to Emirates, the plane landed safely in Australia and the crew arrived on schedule.

The damage to the aircraft’s skin has since been repaired.
