She then criticized what she saw as a slippery indoor surface – used outside due to heavy rain – and hinted that such a mishap was likely to happen under the conditions.

However, Emma managed to grab some time on her journey as she shared snaps of herself strolling by the sea.

The athlete wore a brown crop top and matching shorts as she spent some quality time with her friends.

She styled her tresses in an updo and completed her look with a white bag and sunglasses.

Emma is still traveling to Melbourne hoping her ankle injury doesn’t stop her from competing at the Australian Open.

Auckland tournament director Nicolas Lamperin responded to their complaints by noting that the WTA supervisor on duty had found the courts playable.

“Of course we are very sorry for Emma’s injury,” Lamperin told the New Zealand media.

“Like any player, they work very hard in the off-season, you don’t expect that when you play a tournament in the first week.

“However, injuries do happen again and again, and that could have happened on the outside courts as well. We regret the situation, but we also say that these pitches are playable.

“First of all, I want to make sure she’s okay. I understand the frustration. Ten days before the Australian Open. She’s coming off a season with a lot of injuries so obviously that’s something that creates frustration.”
