Emma Roberts came full circle by starring in a new movie with Richard Gere… after he starred in the famous lead with her aunt Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman
Emma Roberts recently celebrated a milestone while collaborating with screen icon Richard Gere alongside her aunt Julia Roberts.
As the 31-year-old actress walked the red carpet with the 73-year-old actor for a screening of her new Cinema Society film Maybe I Do on Tuesday, the 31-year-old actress gushed about working with Gere while speaking to Page Six .
“I loved him in ‘Runaway Bride’ and ‘Pretty Woman,'” she said, highlighting the two romantic comedies he’s done with Julia.
“Obviously he worked with my aunt,” she said, “so it felt like working full circle with him.”

Gere’s decade-long connection to her family meant it “just made so much sense” that he would star as her father in the new romantic comedy.
A rare appearance with Richard at the screening was his wife Alejandra Silva, a publicist 30 years his junior.
The film is a star-studded affair with a cast that includes Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Emma’s Holidate co-star Luke Bracey and William H. Macy.
Roberts’ character faces some awkward interactions after learning that her in-laws are following affairs in first-time director Michael Jacobs’ film.

The cast was a wealth of riches for Roberts, who also gushed about working with Keaton, who appears as her character’s mother.
She chose some of the Annie Hall star’s previous films, including Baby Boom and The First Wives Club, as touchstones for her.
“I feel like I could watch a Diane Keaton live stream all day because she’s just so funny and so smart and so talented,” Roberts gushed. “Even her mannerisms are so Diane Keaton. So it was just fun to share a breather with her.

During her red carpet appearance, Emma joked about how her two-year-old son Rhodes keeps her on her toes.
“I’ve definitely invested in a really comfortable pair of sneakers because he’s faster than me now and almost my height,” she said. “I’ll soon be overwhelmed. He just turned two and we had a really sweet birthday party. It is the best.’
Emma shares her baby son with her ex, Garrett Hedlund. She split from the Tulsa King actor in December 2021 after a two-year romance.
Since moving away from Hedlund, Roberts began dating Cade Hudson, who happened to be her agent at Creative Artists Agency.
In August, she moved on with actor Cody John.
