“What an asshole, am I right?” she said backstage at the awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

“I've known her for almost 20 years, so I was really happy she was there,” she continued teasingly. “And she got nominated tonight too, which was wonderful, and yeah, what an asshole.”

Swift wasn't the only one happy about Stone's win, as Jennifer Lawrence also celebrated ecstatically shortly after she threatened to quit the race if she didn't win.

The 33-year-old No Hard Feelings star was also nominated in the same category and said to the camera before the winner was announced: “If I don't win, I'm leaving.”

When her longtime boyfriend was named, she was seen clapping and even calling Stone “mom.”

Other nominees in her category included Margot Robbie for Barbie, Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple, Natalie Portman for May December and Alma Pöysti for Fallen Leaves.

The award was Stone's second Golden Globe, as the eight-time nominee previously won the award for her performance in the 2016 musical romantic film “La La Land.”

Stone and Swift have long supported each other, as the songwriter was pictured at the premiere of “Poor Things” in New York City last month.

Stone also revealed that she had been cheering on Swift at her Eras Tour concert, after attending a total of three shows “so far” during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show last week.

She also remembered the story of how they met and how their friendship developed over the years.

“We met at the event they called the Young Hollywood Awards in LA,” she explained. “Since then we’ve just stayed in touch and become good friends.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair published in June 2023, Stone also gushed about her friend and said she was grateful she was able to attend (her first) Eras Tour concert, which she described as “pretty amazing.”

“I've known her since we were 17 and 18, so she met me, which was nice because I know these tickets are impossible to get,” she said of their friendship.

She added that Swift was “a great friend” before praising her work ethic: “I've never seen anything like that.”
